Horley 2s took a squad of 13 to face Addiscombe 3s, after a 20minute drive down an endless drive way the team were ready to start.
First 5 minutes saw some very nervous play from both side that resembled a pinball machine at times. After 5 minutes and some great tactical defensive set up by coach Dave Dyer, and coach Nick Jones, Horley settled down and score quickly. Great pick from Richard Williamson and a quick pass saw the ball shifted up the pitch in seconds. Great run from Ben Shuttleworth pulled 2 players away and allowed Justin Morgan to slot the ball into (Adrian) Shutts on the edge of the D who arrowed it bottom corner.
Horley continued to attack for the rest of the half but nothing quite clicked, shortly before half time Addiscombe caught Horley on a counter attack and score an equaliser.
After some wise words from on field skipper Ross Nel and coach Dave at half time Horley went out and with 6 quick pass up the pitch involve 6 different players, David Skinley managed to find Andy Turnbull on the back post who slide the ball home 2-1 Horley
Then came 30minutes of an onslaught at the Addiscombe goal. As much as Horley tried they couldn't find the final pass or shot that would see them take a comfortable lead.
With 30 seconds to go they paid for this with another counter attack for the oppo who equalised dashing Horley's hope of a first win of the season.
MoM went to Ben for some great link up play and excellent position but both Harry Williamson in goal and Ross anchoring the defence got several votes for their solid performance.
