Horley M2’s were away to Reigate Priory on a wet and blustery Saturday afternoon and although initially dominating most of the first half with ample opportunities, were unable to convert any attempt at goal. It was Reigate who drew first blood with an impressive reverse stick shot to the top right corner of the net. With Horley still on the back foot, Reigate quickly took advantage sinking another goal just before the half time whistle blew.
With renewed spirit, Horley came out of the half time break on a mission to get back in the game; Jon Thompson, team Captain Rob Fielder, and Adeel Bhatti all converting goals. With Horley having no subs and 3 injured players on pitch, Reigate exploited the opportunity to attack at a weakened defence putting away another 2 goals taking the lead by one.
Keeping their heads and digging deep, Horley fought hard to square away another goal from a poorly saved shot with Rob Fielder bringing the score to 4-4. Although Horley gave their all in an attempt to steal away another goal, it was Reigate Priory who struck the final blow ending the match with a 5-4 victory.
