Week 2 results and reports

Epsom L4's 2 - 6 Horley L1's

Horley made it two wins from two, with a really solid performance that showed off some good passing moves and great team understanding and work ethic.

Anxious Epsom struggled to cope with Horley, none more so then the terrifying Amy who bagged one of the 6 goals!

Horley's other goals came from Rachel Brookes (x2), Natascha Burns (scoring her first goal!), Jackie Killick and Kelly Nel. It was a great team performance giving the ladies their 2nd win of the season and seeing them retain their top of the league position!

Horley M3's 3 - 5 Old Cranleighans OC Warriors

Despite the same scoreline as matchday 1, Horley showed further signs of improvement in a topsy turvy match against OC. Horley went ahead courtesy of a Michael Whitmore goal in a dominant first 30 minutes, but conceded 2 quick goals to go in to half time undeservedly behind. Equalisers for the second (Whitmore again) and eventually the third (Steve Holbrook) gave Horley a fighting chance to get their first points of the season. With Horley chasing the win in the final stages, 2 swift counters from OC rounded off a 5-3 defeat for the home side. The identity and tactics for the season are beginning to take shape, and it wont be long until the M3s get their first win and points of the season

Horley M1s 2 v 4 Spencer M8's

This match was always going to be a tough one, particularly with a threadbare squad available due to absence and injury

An unfamiliar line up came together, worked hard, played some good hockey and competed well with Spencer!

Ollie Spiers scored both Horleys goals, one of which was an absolute peach!

Epsom M5's 1-0 Horley M2's

A very close match saw Epsom just pip Horley.

Horley gave everything but with some very tired legs couldn't quite convert the chances they had.

Special mention to Paul Moorey, who had a great game at left back, constantly breaking up Epsom attacks.
